Capital Hill "Steering Committee on Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics" Technology Demo

The eHealth Initiative once again would like to invite you to join a select number of HIT companies to sponsor the 2008 Capitol Hill “Steering Committee on Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics”, on Thursday, June 12 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm ET in Room 902 Hart Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C.

As in the past, this event is working closely with the leadership of “National HIT Week” taking place June 9th-13th to make the HIT Showcase a major focal point of the week’s activities. We anticipate approximately 350-400 attendees from government, industry and academia.

Click here to access the sponsor form. Please complete and return your response form via email to nealn@hlthtech.com or fax to (703) 790-4934 by May 1.

eHI Consensus Legislation Development Effort

The eHealth Initiative is launching a member-driven process to create consensus across multiple stakeholders in healthcare regarding the specific actions that Congress can and should take to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of American healthcare through information and information technology—in a way that is responsible, sustainable, responsive to each stakeholder’s needs, and which builds and maintains the public’s trust. (Last updated June 2) Click here for more information.

Capitol Hill Steering Group on Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics

The eHealth Initiative works with the Capitol Hill Steering Group on Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics to sponsor regular briefings. The Steering Group -- now in its 12th year -- holds frequent briefings on a wide variety of health information technology topics, ranging from chronic care to patient safety to bioterrorism. Honorary Co-chairs are Senators Mike Crapo (R-ID) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) and Representatives Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Rick Boucher (D-VA).

A slide presentation from the Capitol Hill Steering Group's recent Technology Fair covering "An Industry Roadmap toward Interoperability" on June 21st is available here.
