Based in Washington, D.C., the eHealth Initiative and its Foundation (eHI) are independent, non-profit, affiliated organizations whose missions are the same: to drive improvements in the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare through information and information technology. We bring multiple stakeholders together to find common ground on a set of principles and policies for mobilizing information electronically that is responsible, sustainable, trustworthy, and meets the needs of every stakeholder in healthcare most importantly, patients.
eHI's membership represents a broad range of stakeholders, including clinicians, consumer groups, employers and healthcare purchasers, health plans, health information technology (IT) suppliers, hospitals and other providers, laboratories, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, pharmacies, public health agencies, quality improvement organizations, standards groups, and state, regional and community-based organizations.
